Answer Me This

I know, I know. I've been a terrible blogger lately. I really am going to try on doing some actual posts sometime in the near future. However, that usually requires me to have a life and do interesting things. Right now, my life is work all day and come home and crash. These longer days are getting to everyone. But the good news is that there's only 12 days of school left.

I recently found a new link up called Answer Me This thanks to a new-to-me blog, Catholic All Year. (I know, another link up answering questions, but please bear with me as I attempt to get any new content up on the blog.)

What's the scariest thing that's ever been in your yard?

A squirrel that I genuinely thought was going to climb up my leg and attack me. I was filling the bird feeder on our back steps and this squirrel was not shy about getting close to me. I'm not usually scared of squirrels, but he was way too close for comfort! I ended up shouting at him and throwing birdseed, but he still didn't leave. I had to go inside the house for while and wait for him to go away. Funnily enough, he's never approached me again even when I fill the bird feeders.

Beards. Thumbs up or thumbs down?

It depends on the guy. On my husband? Thumbs down. On my father? Thumbs up. He had a beard my entire life and then he shaved it one day and he looks like a totally different person. It's very weird to see my father without his beard.

If stuff breaks, can you fix it?

Depends on what it is. I can fix minor things, but no way could I fix a car problem or plumbing.

What was your first car?

A Mercury Sable from the 90's. It was pretty basic, but it worked well. (It had been owned by a little old lady that didn't go anywhere.)  I only had it for a year or so and I sold it to my brother because he needed a car and I bought a Taurus that I loved.

How often do you eat out?

More than we really should, probably. We try to keep it to only once or twice a month, ideally. That doesn't always work out, but we really try to limit it to once a week in those cases. We gave up eating out for Lent this year and I was surprised at how hard it was to keep that sacrifice. It really opened my eyes to how often we take the easy way out instead of making food at home.

Why is your hair like that?

Because I'm growing it out again and my hair grows slowly and weirdly. The back grows faster than the front, so I end up with mini mullets right before my next haircut. Right now, it's at the awkward length where it won't do anything and I've given up fighting it. Hopefully this summer, I can just pull it back for camp and be done with it.

  1. It's always interesting to me to see what people sacrifice for Lent and how hard it is to keep it, or if they keep it up. Good luck with cooking more.
