How did you come up with your blog name? 

It was inspired by my love of all things argyle and of course, our argyle wedding.
  
What is your favorite thing about blogging? 

Finding new blogs to follow, getting sweet comments, and just generally sharing things with others.

What is one thing you have discovered because of blogging and now can't live without? 

Does Sunday Social count? I love doing this link-up. I'm so sad that it's the last one! But, I'm also excited to see what's next.  Also, Instagram, and Pinterest

Facebook or Twitter? and why?

For the blog? Twitter just because I actually do a lot more on there than on my blog's Facebook page. I need to get better at that!

If one celeb read your blog who would you want it to be?

The Duchess of Cambridge because I'm certain we could easily be best friends.

What is something you want people to know about your blog?

Even though I've been trying this blogging thing for awhile now, I'm still growing and changing how I do things. I'm working on being more consistent and trying to be more interesting, I promise.

What is your favorite month and why?

I've never really thought about which month is my favorite. I could say January since that's when my birthday is, but I don't love the cold weather.

I would probably say May. The weather is warmer, but usually not too warm yet. School is almost out and summer is around the corner. Plus, the flowers are in bloom.

Favorite Holiday and why?

Christmas! I love the family traditions we have, I love finding the perfect present for someone, I love going to Midnight Mass, and I love Christmas music. I love everything about the Christmas season.

 Are you getting the new iPhone or are you more of an Android person?

I am an Android girl. I've had the same smartphone for 3 years now, so obviously, I'm not one who feels the need to get a new phone every time something new comes out. Even if I was an iPhone person, I would not get that new one. It looks way too big!

Most thoughtful gift you have ever received from someone?

I can't really think of one specific gift. I've received many thoughtful gifts over the years.

Something you can’t wait to splurge on?

A new mattress. Ours is awful. I get a backache just looking at it.

What is your favorite magazine to read?

I hesitate to name one because every time I find a magazine I really like, it seems to stop publishing. I'm a not big magazine person, really. I get some magazines, but they were all free through various reward programs.

If I had to pick a magazine, I'd probably say People.

What is the best thing you've seen online lately?



Benedict Cumberbatch can't say, "penguin." Hilarious!

What is your favorite celebrity to follow on Instagram or Twitter?

I like following Jennifer Morrison on Instagram and Twitter because she posts stuff about Once Upon a Time and I love it when she posts behind the scenes photos.

Is there one article of clothing no matter what the season you can’t help but love?

Hoodies! I'm always looking for an excuse to wear one, even when it's hot outside. Also, yoga pants.

Do you prefer email or snail mail?

Snail mail. I love getting things in the mail! (Especially if they're not bills.) I really need to be better about sending other people mail.

 

Sunday Social - Fall

What is your favorite part of Fall? 

My favorite part of fall is Halloween and Thanksgiving. I'm always up for a food related holiday.

Do you have anything special planned for Fall?

Just a lot of working now that school is back in session. 

What is Fall like in your area? 

Weather in Indiana is always unpredictable. It cooled off last week, but now we're back to 80 degrees. The leaves change color and the trees look beautiful. We have lots of pumpkin farms and apple orchards in addition to corn mazes.

What is your favorite Football team to cheer for(college or professional)? 

I've been a pretty big Colts fan ever since college. It's not unusual to find me yelling at my TV on Sundays during the fall. Why the Colts? Well, I live in Indiana, so they're the home team. Plus, we had an amazing team when I started following them and ended up going to two Super Bowls.  I also have to cheer for the Broncos since they've got Peyton now.

I also like to cheer for whichever team is playing Notre Dame. (I know, I'm a terrible Catholic.)

Do you decorate for Fall? Show us pics!!!

I decorate for fall. I especially decorate for Halloween. I'd share pics, but I refuse to decorate until it's actually fall and that's not until Tuesday.

Favorite Scent

My favorite perfume is LaCoste pour Femme. It's what I wore on our wedding day.

My favorite Bath & Body Works scents are Paris Amour and Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin.

My favorite flower scents are peony and lilac.

My favorite candle scents are vanilla, lilac, and campfire.

Favorite Food

Pizza, Buffalo wings, and just about anything chocolate, bonus points if it's a baked good.

Favorite Sound

I like the sound of rain at night.

I liked this week's questions, so I'm linking up for Sunday Social again.

What was your college major? Did you ever change majors?

I majored in Elementary Education. Once I started college, I never changed majors, but right before I applied I changed from Social Studies Education to Elementary Education.

I did change my concentration (basically a minor for the elementary education majors) during college. I started with French and switched to State and World Connections (aka Social Studies.)

What is the best purchase you’ve made lately?

This shirt from Kohl's:

I ordered it online without seeing it in store, which is always a gamble, but this one paid off. I really love how comfortable this shirt is. I've declared it my new Saturday shirt. It's comfy and looks good for running errands. 

What is something silly we don’t know about you?

I love to sing in the car. My favorite thing to sing is musicals.

What is your favorite Holiday? 

 Christmas!

What is the first thing you do when you wake up?

 I usually hit snooze a couple times and then stumble for the bathroom.



 

Sunday Social - 2 Years

We're celebrating 2 years of Sunday Social this week!

Introduce yourself and your blog to us

What is your favorite form of Social Media and why?

I like a lot of different forms of social media right now, but I think my favorite is Instagram. I really like looking at other people's pictures and I'm trying to be better about posting my own pictures, but I don't seem to have interesting things to share unless you like pictures of my cat or flowers.

What made you start a blog? 

I started a blog after reading other blogs for several years. I originally  started a wedding blog to document the wedding planning process because I had dreams of being a Weddingbee blogger. But, it turns out, I'm a terrible wedding planning blogger, so that was abandoned pretty quickly. I started this blog to share my life and it's been pretty fun.

What do you feel the most meaningful/special post you've written is?

I can't pinpoint just one, but the recaps I did of our wedding were pretty special to me.

What is your favorite handbag you own?

 It's a tie between my Vera Bradley Glenna and my Vera Bradley Hipster. I love the Glenna for every day stuff and the Hipster is great for vacations and places where I don't carry as much in my purse. I love both these styles so much, I have 2 of each!

3 things you would buy right now if money was no object?

1. A cruise to Alaska
2. A new mattress
3. A DSLR camera

Name a place you would go right now if given a plane ticket to anywhere?

London or Disney World

What is the most valuable life lesson you've learned from blogging?

Just do what makes you happy.

What is the most valuable life lesson you've learned from a friend?

Be positive and work hard. And don't forget to have fun! Also, cake is always a good idea.



 

Sunday Social - Summer

What is your best summer memory as a kid? 

The fair! Our county fair is awesome and I frequently spent most of the week out there when I was a kid/teen. I loved being able to explore everything over the week and of course, eat a bunch of awesome fair food! I still love going to the fair now even though I can usually only go once during the week.

What is your favorite summer drink? 

Lemonade! Especially the lemonade from Chick-fil-a. I'm going to have to stock up on lemons this year and make my own.

What is your favorite summer TV show? 

We only watch a few shows during the regular season and during the summer we don't watch any shows. We love having Netflix Instant Watch and borrowing DVDs from the library.

What is the best outdoor summer activity? 

I don't do hot weather very well, so I try to spend as much of the summer as possible inside. However, my summer job at the day camp has other ideas. I'm sure I'll be playing lots of dodgeball again this summer.

If I have to be outside in the heat, I like to be at the county fair or the local flea market or visiting a zoo.

What are your summer vacation essentials?

A Vera Bradley Hipster, my camera, books to read, sunglasses, and sunscreen!

What was your favorite TGIF show? 

My favorites were Full House and Dinosaurs.

What was your favorite Saturday morning TV show? 

 I remember being a fan of California Dreams.

Mickey Mouse Club or Kids Incorporated? 

I didn't watch either of them. (I grew up without cable!)

Zack Morris or AC Slater? 

Zack

Which show would you love to see remade? (For example, Boy Meets World is back as Girl Meets World)

 Remakes are never as good as the original. I'll stick with reruns of Boy Meets World and watching Dinosaurs on Netflix.

Who do you call when you need to vent? 

My husband or my mom.

Where do you go when you need alone time?

The bedroom or my office.

What is your favorite alone time activity?

Reading or watching Netflix or movies.

What is something we should all stop and read right now?

Anything! As a teacher, I try to develop a love of reading in all my students. I grew up devouring books and I still do. I'm always amazed at the adults I meet that proudly proclaim that they don't like to read.

Who do you wish would read your blog that doesn't already? Family? Celeb?

I'm pretty happy that anybody reads my blog, but it'd be nice if Jennifer Lawrence and the Duchess of Cambridge read it and realized that we're supposed to be best friends.

 

Sunday Social - Pet Peeves

What is your biggest driving pet peeve? 

General inability to use common sense - no turn signals, not going the speed limit or excessive speeding, etc.

What is your biggest blogging pet peeve? 

I really hate when people don't link directly to the post in link-ups. If your blog doesn't open to the right post, I'm closing the window and not bothering to read. I also hate when people link up and don't even do the link up post.

Also, word verification drives me nuts. If I actually take the time to write a comment and then have to fight the word verification, I think twice about leaving the comment. In fact, many times when I see the captcha pop up, I just close the window and forget leaving the comment. I know a lot of people say they do it because of spam comments, but I get a lot of hits every day (thanks to Vera Bradley stuff) and I've only ever gotten like 2 spam comments. And since I'm notified when I get new comments, I saw them right away and deleted them. I just like to make it as easy as possible for people to interact with me on the blog.

What is your biggest shopping pet peeve?

Rudeness - especially poor customer service or people treating retail workers and servers poorly.

What is your biggest general pet peeve?

 I have several and they change often, but at the moment? Moms who complain about being moms and healthy pregnant women who whine about being pregnant. I wish I had your problems. 

Also, neighbors that can't keep their drama in their own house and have yelling fights in the street. Seriously?

What is your most irrational fear? 

Bees - I've been stung twice, but I'm afraid that I'll be allergic the next time and my throat will swell up.

 

Sunday Social - The Best

What was your best birthday?

Probably one when I was a kid and I had birthday parties. I don't really remember them. I do remember getting an awesome My Little Pony from the neighbor I had a crush on, so that one must have been pretty good.

What was your best vacation?

Our honeymoon, hands down. 10 days in Florida, staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, hitting all the Disney parks, SeaWorld, and JFK Space Center.  I got to touch a penguin - this vacation will always win.

What is the best date you've ever been on?

 M took me to feed giraffes when he found out they were my favorite animal. I didn't even know you could do that. He took me to Binder Park Zoo and I had so much fun.

What is the best movie (quality) you've seen?

Pride & Prejudice

The acting is great and the whole movie is just beautiful. Matthew Macfadyan is my Mr. Darcy. (Sorry, Colin Firth!) I could watch this movie every day.

What is the best TV show ending of all time?

I don't know that I've seen many TV show endings. I confess that I usually give up on the show before it ends. Usually because shows go too long and they just get ridiculous.  I did enjoy the Psych ending though.

Who is your favorite non-celeb to follow? 

Hmm, I really don't think about having favorites...probably my friends and some of the Weddingbee tweeps.

What Kate Wore is great for Duchess of Cambridge news as it happens.

Who is your favorite celeb to follow?

I like following the people who work on Doctor Who & Sherlock b/c sometimes I get to witness some really funny conversations.

The Bloggess is also good to follow.

Also, Alton Brown is awesome. He answers questions and gives cooking advice.

Have you ever had a celeb respond to a tweet? 

Not a celeb, but Vera Bradley and Weddingbee have retweeted me. 

What is your favorite store/brand to follow?

I like following Vera Bradley to get info on new products and I've been lucky enough to win a Twitter giveaway from them.

What is your ideal way to relax?

On the couch with my husband, watching TV or a movie while we both putter around on our laptops.

Where is your favorite place to be?

At home with my husband for relaxing. For fun, Disney World! It's my happy place.

Who do you consider your biggest role model? 

My mom and grandma who are both strong independent women. As for celebrities, it's definitely the Duchess of Cambridge. She's such a great model for being a true lady and I just love her style.

What does your life look like in 3 years? 

First child is a toddler, and baby #2 is being planned. Probably looking into getting a bigger house. Hopefully both of us have better jobs. Hopefully I'm a full time teacher again with my own classroom. I'd love to be teaching at the school connected with our church.

If you could go back and change one decision what would it be? 

My only true regret? Not getting a Florida resident annual pass to Walt Disney World while I lived in Tampa. I could have been spending my weekends in my happy place and then maybe the stress of my job wouldn't have made me quite so miserable.

What is your biggest accomplishment in life thus far?

Can I pull a Benedict Cumberbatch and say, "I wish I could say children."

No seriously, I'll say graduating from the college I wanted to attend since the second grade in four years with honors. I worked my butt off for that, I'm going to be proud of that for my life.

How much time do you spend on Social Media a day?...be honest 

None during work, but I make up for it when I get home. That's pretty much what all my saved tabs are anymore.

How long were you reading blogs before you started a blog?

I'm pretty sure it was several years. I didn't really think about blogging until I tried to start a wedding planning blog and then never updated it.

What is your favorite kind of cupcake?

Usually anything chocolate is great. The local cupcake bakery does a great snickerdoodle cupcake as well as an excellent strawberry one.   

Do you eat fast food? If so what's your favorite?

I don't eat fast food very often, but if I'm eating it, I prefer Chick-fil-a or Chipotle. Sadly, they're a bit of a drive, so I don't get them often. If I want a burger, I prefer Wendy's.

What is the most random thing someone would find in your purse?  

Even though I tend to carry a lot of stuff in my purse, I don't think anything in there is weird. 

What is the weirdest TV show you watch?

I don't think any of my TV shows are weird. Although it might be weird that I watch Mexico One Plate at a Time whenever I find it on TV.

I LOVE Pinterest, so this week's questions were really fun!

What is your favorite outfit pin?

I pin a lot of outfits from the Outfit Posts blog because I think she has some great ideas that are my style. I actually put together an outfit just like this before she posted this one and I was really proud of myself for coming up with something a little more stylish than my usual choices.


What is your favorite food pin? 


These doughnuts are begging me to try out my new doughnut pan and make them.

What is your favorite wedding pin? 


Of course, I had to pick something from my own wedding. I love seeing people pin my wedding pictures for their own inspiration.  

What is your favorite DIY/craft pin?

I put bottle brush trees like these in a couple of my vintage Ball jars, but I want to find some vintage jars like these for next winter. And I love the little deer, so I need to find some of those too.
