I liked this week's questions, so I'm linking up for Sunday Social again.
What was your college major? Did you ever change majors?
I majored in Elementary Education. Once I started college, I never changed majors, but right before I applied I changed from Social Studies Education to Elementary Education.
I did change my concentration (basically a minor for the elementary education majors) during college. I started with French and switched to State and World Connections (aka Social Studies.)
What is the best purchase you’ve made lately?
This shirt from Kohl's:
I ordered it online without seeing it in store, which is always a gamble, but this one paid off. I really love how comfortable this shirt is. I've declared it my new Saturday shirt. It's comfy and looks good for running errands.
What is something silly we don’t know about you?
I love to sing in the car. My favorite thing to sing is musicals.
What is your favorite Holiday?
Christmas!
What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
I usually hit snooze a couple times and then stumble for the bathroom.

How often do you take public transportation?
Only when I'm on vacation. We have a bus service here, but it's much easier to just drive myself. I've used the local commuter train to get to Chicago several times, the Metro in DC, and the Metro in Paris.
How many cousins do you have?
I have 2 first cousins, which are the cousins I'm closest to. I've have lots more distant cousins, but I don't really know them.
Have you ever fired a gun?
I have not. Last year, my brother-in-law took his guns up to my sister-in-law's house for the 4th of July and most of the family did some shooting at targets. I stayed in the house. I'm a klutz and am terrified I'll shoot my foot or something.
However, should something happen, I do know where my mother-in-law's gun is located and how to fire it.
Do you ride roller coasters?
I do if they meet my very specific conditions. They cannot go upside down, be too high, or too fast. Basically, I can ride just about everything at Walt Disney World (with the exception of Rock 'n' Roller Coaster.) At Cedar Point, I can ride Disaster Transport, Iron Dragon, and Cedar Creek Mine Ride.
Technically, I can ride Expedition Everest, but I don't enjoy it. It's slightly too intense for me. My husband on the other hand, loves it.
What's your favorite flower?
Peonies! I love them so much, we scheduled our wedding so they'd be in season.

I'm not allergic to any foods that I know of, but I am allergic to the drug Azithromycin. Which just means I can't have Z-paks and have to take Amoxicillin.

When's the last time you got a new bathing suit?
Last summer. I had to get one for my summer camp job since we take the kids to the pool and lake. And no, there won't be a picture of that.
Who made the last incoming call on your phone?
My mom. We ended up talking for over an hour last night.
If you receive communion, do you receive it in the hands or on the tongue?
Hands, always. The tongue thing weirds me out, I don't know why. I was seriously concerned with how to receive communion at our wedding since I was holding my bouquet, but I made it work and received in my hand.

Do you have a tattoo?
I do, but it's hidden. I got a purple butterfly when I was 19.
How many dinner plates are in your house?
I think there's 9. We have two sets of place settings and an extra plate. There would be a lot more if I had my Christmas china in this house instead of stored at my mom's.
Do you have an accent?
I was born and raised in Indiana, so I've got that flat, Midwestern, no accent thing going for me. Although I'm sure people from other areas might think I have an accent.

What’s something you intended to do today, but didn't?
We're working on landscaping our front yard. I had intended to do both sides of our porch today, but after doing one side, I didn't have the energy or the materials to do the other side. It's just going to have to wait.
What's your favorite grilling recipe?
Confession: We don't own an outside grill and have no plans to get one. We do enjoy using our George Forman grill though. Our favorite thing to make is Chicken Fajitas. We use the copycat Chili's recipe. This blog, has the recipe.
What movie did you see most recently?
On DVD: Saving Mr. Banks - We borrowed it from the library.
In the theater: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. It was my traditional birthday movie.
Would you say your tendency is to over or under react to medical situations?
Unless there's blood or bones sticking out, I probably under react. I don't like going to the doctor unless I think drugs are needed.
Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube or roll it?
I squeeze and I don't always squeeze from the bottom. I will roll it up when it gets close to empty though.
What are you doing for Father's Day?
Nothing. I don't talk to my dad, my husband's dad passed away before I met him, and we don't have kids. We might go out to the cemetery after Mass. That's up to my husband.

Do you have a land line?
We don't. We got rid of it a couple years ago because the only phone calls we got were telemarketers even though we're on the Do Not Call List. I'm not paying for people to call and bug me.
What is your least favorite food?
I cannot stand peas. (I'm a terribly picky eater, so this list could be much longer, but peas are definitely one of my least favorites. Absolutely will not eat.)
What's on your summer reading list?
Whatever I can find at the library. I've got lots of requests in for new books that are coming out over the next few months. I'm caught up on nearly all the various series of books I've started, so I'm in limbo waiting for new books and trying to find new a series or two to start.
Is there something that people consistently ask for your advice on? What is it?
My mother-in-law frequently asks me for help for Facebook, if that counts.
What's the most physically demanding thing you've ever done?
I haven't had a kid yet, so I can't really think of anything.
How do you feel about massages?
I've never had one. They sound great, but I'm a little weird about strangers touching me. My oldest niece does give the world's best foot rubs though! And I just remembered that my stylist gives the most amazing scalp massages when she's shampooing me. But since she's been doing my hair for nearly 10 years, she's not exactly a stranger.

Week in Review
I can't believe it's already June! School will be over on Wednesday and then it'll be time to start planning for day camp.
Last week we had Monday off from school for Memorial Day which was a welcome break. The scheduler didn't call to ask me to work on Tuesday, so I ended up with a 4-day weekend. That was very much appreciated after the craziness of the past few weeks.
On Wednesday and Thursday, I worked half days in 3rd grade. It was different classes at different schools and very different experiences. On Friday, I had to work a full day in a kindergarten class. We had a pretty good day considering it was Friday and the kids are antsy to be done with school.
I'm only scheduled to work Monday this week and then I'm pretty sure I'm done. Last year, she did call to ask me to work the 2nd to last day of school, but even if that does happen, I think I'm done. I'm ready. Plus, we're supposed to have field day today, so I'm sure I'll be ready to be done.
In other news, my day camp boss finally called and left me a message about the meeting. But confusingly, she acted like I already knew about it and just wanted to verify that it was a different time. Also, it's on a Monday and last year we met on Wednesday and Thursday. I'm going to assume it's Monday and Tuesday and she just thought I knew that already.
We still haven't decided what to do for our anniversary. We might go to Cincinnati and use our free night at a hotel that I won last year. That expires in July and it seems like a waste not to use it. We'd probably just go to the zoo and hit up Ikea.
My laptop finally broke last week. The hinges have been breaking for a while and they finally gave up. So I gave up my Amazon credit that I've been saving for a few years for a DSLR camera and ordered a new laptop.
My big excitement this past week was that one of my peony bushes actually bloomed this year! I have 4 blooms on this bush. Sadly, none of my others are going to bloom this year. Peonies are my favorite flower, but I hate how finicky they are about blooming.
How was your week?

Sunday Social - 2 Years
We're celebrating 2 years of Sunday Social this week!
Introduce yourself and your blog to us
What is your favorite form of Social Media and why?
I like a lot of different forms of social media right now, but I think my favorite is Instagram. I really like looking at other people's pictures and I'm trying to be better about posting my own pictures, but I don't seem to have interesting things to share unless you like pictures of my cat or flowers.
What made you start a blog?
I started a blog after reading other blogs for several years. I originally started a wedding blog to document the wedding planning process because I had dreams of being a Weddingbee blogger. But, it turns out, I'm a terrible wedding planning blogger, so that was abandoned pretty quickly. I started this blog to share my life and it's been pretty fun.
What do you feel the most meaningful/special post you've written is?
I can't pinpoint just one, but the recaps I did of our wedding were pretty special to me.
