Instagram

Are you on Instagram? I am and I love it! It's such a great, fun way to share little bits of my life with others. And I love seeing little bits of other users days as well.

You may have noticed that I've been slowly remaking the blog. And if you take a peek at the right side of the blog, you'll notice I've added a new Instagram app. You can see my last 4 photos published on Instagram. Click on any of them to see them bigger.

I love to use Instagram to participate in Fat Mum Slim's monthly photo challenges. I don't take photos every day, but I keep the day's prompt in mind and try to participate as much as I can.

Here are July's prompts.

I also post my photo a day pictures on Tumblr, if you'd like to follow me over there. I mostly post about my Doctor Who/Sherlock obsessions there in addition to my pictures.

I'm ArgyleLove on Instagram, so feel free to follow me and check out my pictures! If you're on Instagram, leave your user name in the comments and I'll check you out!

October Photo Challenge: The End

I didn't get all the days, but I decided to go ahead and post the pictures that I do have since we're already well into November.

I got a lot of these when we visited the corn maze.

My Halloween costume! I had so much fun wearing it to work.

And that's the end! I had a lot of fun with this challenge, so I'll be keeping an eye out for more fun challenges!

October Photo Challenge: Days 7-15

I've been taking my photo challenge photos, but I haven't shared them with you! Here's the next batch!

A quick trip to the grocery store after work helped me get this one.

I work retail, so I spend my day with clothes. Hanging them, folding them, cleaning up messes left by other people, etc. And just what is it about a perfectly folded table that makes people want to mess it up? So when I get home, the last thing I really want to do is deal with clothes. So the laundry piles up and doesn't get put away and often my clothes do just end up on the floor. Eventually I get sick of it and clean it up and the vow to keep it clean. And then it just starts all over again.

The husband and the fat cat.

Forgive the poor lighting. Our stairs are naturally very dark and I didn't open the blinds at the bottom. The butterflies were cross-stitched by my grandma and they hung just like this in her house for years. When we bought the house, my aunt sent me these since she knows I like butterflies and I just had to hang them just like they were in my grandma's house.

I admit that I got off track and forgot to take pictures everyday. I decided to try to make up some that I missed on a trip to the zoo last weekend. The peacock was resting in the barnyard area of the zoo and he very nicely posed while I took pictures of his beautiful coloring.

I took a nap this day and missed most of the sunset. Here's what I saw from our back step.

I got the urge to paint my nails, so here's a portion of nail polish collection.

From our trip to the zoo.

My favorite animal at our local zoo, the red panda. This one was very active and I got lots of cute pictures.

October Photo Challenge: Days 1-6

I've been trying hard to take pictures everyday for the October Photography Challenge and today I want to share with you what I've done so far.

Turns out it's really hard to take a self portrait in the mirror while holding a cat. Normally she doesn't mind being held too much, but this day she was fighting me the whole time.

This is what I wore to church
Pink Cami: So from Kohl's
Black cardigan: AB Studio bought on clearance at Kohl's
Jeans: Old Navy
Boots: Mudd from Kohl's a few years ago

Would you believe that the day I was supposed to take pictures of clouds, there wasn't a cloud in the sky? Instead we had this beautiful blue overhead.

M used this green suitcase when we went to DC and it's been sitting in our back room ever since. Mimi has claimed it as her new sleeping spot so we've just left it there until she decides she's done with it.

The weather has been unseasonably warm this week, so I've been taking advantage of it and wearing my flip flops as much as possible before the snow starts. Since these are my tie-dye flip flops, I used Pioneer Woman's Seventies action on it. I like the colors.

The moon looked really pretty last night. Too bad this is the best picture I could get with my point and shoot camera.

October

I can't believe it's October already! This year seems to be flying by.

I wanted to let you know about something I'm going to try to do this month. It's a photography challenge that several bloggers I follow are doing.

It was started by Our Wired Lives and you can find more about it in this post. If you want to go all out, you can sign up to be on the participant list, post to the Flickr group or even Tweet with the official hashtag.

I'm shy, so I'll just be quietly doing this on my own over here. Since I have yet to win a DSLR, I'll just be using my point and shoot camera and probably my camera phone.

Let me know if you are participating and I'll check out your photos! I'll probably just post them every few days or do a weekly post instead of posting them everyday. (Me, post everyday?)

Hope everyone is having a great first day of October. I spent the morning volunteering at a walk for Down Syndrome children and now I'm doing my first of the month coupon clipping. I just love finding great deals!
