Forgive me, but this odd four day work week has totally thrown off my schedule. Since today was the second day of work, I feel like today is Tuesday and yesterday was Monday. As a result, I totally forgot to do Doctor Who's day yesterday!
Today's Doctor Who's day topic is funniest episode. I have to say that I don't think any one episode is the funniest. They often have their funny moments, but I can't think of any episode that was truly comedic.
Here, watch some of the funniest moments from Doctor Who...

Weekend Wrap Up
Happy Memorial Day! A three day weekend was exactly what I needed. And lucky me, my husband actually had all three days off too.
We had a pretty relaxing weekend, mostly at home. We did do dinner at my mother-in-law's house on Saturday after we went to Mass. It was a spontaneous decision, but it was warm out and they have much better air conditioning than we do. In fact, we didn't even turn on our air conditioner until yesterday. 90 degrees is just too warm to be without it. It will be cooler this week though, so we'll turn it off and save some money.
Today, we went up to my sister-in-law's house to celebrate my nephew's birthday and my niece's graduation. She's actually graduating this coming Thursday, but we celebrated with sweets and presents a little early. I can't believe she's graduating from high school already. It seems like just yesterday she was in junior high!
I'm scheduled to work three days this week and then I suspect I will be done with school for the year. I'll be very surprised if I have to work on the last three days of school, but stranger things have happened.

Pinterest Sunday
Time for my weekly Pinterest roundup! Every Sunday, I share with you a few of my top finds from the previous week.
Have you seen Kelly Clarkson's video for her new single? I watched it the other day and I am in love with her hair. I love the new bangs and her color is gorgeous. Someday I'll actually be able to afford to get my hair colored, but until then I'll just have to keep pulling out the less than brown ones.
I really need some new brown sandals, but I haven't been able to find any in the stores that I like. I found these Skechers sandals on the DSW website and I think they might work. I'll have to try them on next time I get over to DSW.
This TARDIS necklace is pretty. Who doesn't need a piece of Doctor Who related jewelry?
If you're on Pinterest, leave a link in the comments and I'll check out your boards.

Doctor Who's Day: Saddest Episode
Today's Doctor Who's Day topic is saddest episode. I have a feeling the saddest episode I'll ever watch will be Amy and Rory's last episode, but since I won't get to see that until later this year, I'll pick an episode that's already aired.
I'd have to say that David Tennant's last special was the saddest episode of Doctor Who. It gets depressing as he visits all his former companions to say good bye, but then things get really sad. I lost it when Ten declared that he didn't want to go just before regenerating. Even though I knew Eleven was on the way, it was hard to watch my Doctor leave. Plus, it's pretty much a guarantee that if the Doctor cries, I will cry.

How cute is this owl lantern? I think it would look adorable in a nursery.
These homemade flour tortillas from The Nifty Foodie look delicious and so easy to make. I am going to have to give these a try this summer.
You know I can't resist a pretty vintage dress and this one is no exception. I really wish this was still in style.

It's Been Awhile
Sorry, I know it's been awhile since I last blogged. I have no excuse other than life is crazy right now. I had to sub for the same class all last week and they took all my energy. I enjoyed playing full time teacher and planning things again, but at the end of the day, I had no energy to blog.
Then, this weekend I was sick. I woke up Saturday with a very sore throat. I spent much of the day in bed. Yesterday was slightly better and I did work today, but my throat is still sore.
There are 15 days of school left and I am scheduled to work 10 of them. They are keeping me busy right up until the end this year! During the summer I will unfortunately be working retail again, but I am hoping to have more time to devote to the blog. I will also hopefully have more fun things to blog about during the summer.
How has life been treating you?

Pinterest Sunday
Time for my weekly Pinterest roundup! Every Sunday, I share with you a few of my top finds from the previous week.
This Tunnel of Fudge Cake from Annie's Eats reminds me of a cake my mom used to make for my birthdays. I'm thinking about making it for our anniversary next month.
My best friend is pregnant and I'm really excited to plan a baby shower in a few months. Of course, I'm scouring Pinterest for ideas and already started a board just for this.
I spotted these on a recent trip to Old Navy. Between my love of flip flops and my love of cherries, I think I need these.

Cake Mix Cookies
I can't believe I forgot to share these with you! I need to get better about doing reviews of recipes I make from Pinterest.
Although, I should point out that I actually pinned this myself, I didn't find it on Pinterest. The recipe comes from one of my favorite food blog, The Sweet Adventures of Sugarbelle.
When I spotted these cookies on her blog back in January, I thought they looked delicious. And since Sugarbelle calls these "the easiest cookies you will ever make" I knew I had to try them. But if I have cookies in the house, I'll eat them, I had to wait for an excuse to make them. Luckily, Valentine's Day was coming up, so I decided to make them for my husband's coworkers. (Who also used to be my coworkers.) These cookies really were very easy to make. And cheap! I already had 3 of the ingredients on hand and I picked up the cake mix on sale. I even had the perfect sprinkles for the holiday in my pantry.
I tried one before I sent them with my husband (quality control, of course) and they were very tasty! My former coworkers loved the cookies! My husband brought home an empty container. If you're looking for an easy and tasty recipe, give these cookies a try!

A Day at the Zoo
It's no secret that M and I love to go to zoos. And we're lucky to have a local zoo that's only about 30 minutes from our house. I know we'll be spending a lot of time here when we have kids. For now, we like to go at least once a year and check out the animals.
Last October, some plans we had with friends fell through, so M and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to the zoo since we were in the area. We had a great time just strolling along, taking our time at each enclosure. And luckily for me and my camera, the animals were being especially photogenic that day.
One of the things I love about this zoo is that you can be right up against the glass at the tiger enclosures. This day, the tiger was pacing and I managed to get some great up close shots. He actually brushed up against the glass as he was turning and it was wild to think just how close we really were to a tiger.
The White Bengal Tiger was less active that day and enjoying a nap in the sunshine.
The Koi are always pretty and I'm amazed at how big some of them are.
The red pandas are my favorite part of this zoo. They are so cute and playful. Here, they always seem to be up in this tree.
He did come down, but went right to his food and didn't want his picture taken anymore.
The barn owl looks annoyed, doesn't he? I guess he'd rather sleep than have visitors.
This peacock was hanging out at the pony ride area. Since the pony rides were closed, he took it over for his own lounging area. I'm amazed that he just sat there and let us get close and take pictures. His coloring was gorgeous!
I can always hear the lions roaring from across the zoo. This zoo is near a residential area and I think it would be cool to hear the lions roaring from your house.
The zoo has two male lions and they like to "play." I'm not sure how much is playing and how much is trying to be the dominant one, but they're fun to watch.
Sleepy warthogs are actually kind of cute!
This leopard also liked to pace in front of the glass. It felt like I could just reach out and touch him.
The smiley alligator was also enjoying a nice fall day.
Meerkat! No, of course this is a prairie dog. The prairie dogs were enjoying a meal as we watched them. It's so cute to watch them nibble their fruits and vegetables.
We had an enjoyable afternoon with the animals. I can't wait for our next trip to the local zoo.

Doctor Who's Day - Favorite Master
Today's Doctor Who's Day topic is favorite Master. This was quite easy for me since I have only known one Master.
The Master is also a Time Lord. However, he likes to cause trouble and is actually an enemy of The Doctor. Like The Doctor, The Master has had several regenerations over time.
John Simm has played The Master during the new series and therefore, he is the only Master I have known. I think he's played The Master brilliantly. The Master is evil and diabolical and very much not sane. But John Simm makes him fun. I can't help but laugh at some of The Master's insane little things.
It will be interesting to see if The Master makes a comeback and if he does, who plays him.
Do you have a favorite Master?
